TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Three members of the Terre Haute Police Department will now work closely with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) organization as part of what authorities are calling a major task force. .
THPD announced Friday that Detectives Josh Loudermilk and Josh Goldner of the Juvenile Investigation Division and Lt. Scott Fankhauser, supervisor of the crime lab, will be members of the ICAC task force.
“The addition of juvenile investigators and crime lab members to the ICAC task force strengthens the Terre Haute Police Department’s efforts to adapt to evolving information and technology to protect our community. We ensure that we remain on the front lines of fighting online exploitation and protecting children,” the news release states.
Officials cited each officer’s background in the organization and extensive experience investigating crimes against children as reasons why they were chosen for their roles.
“The Terre Haute Police Department is committed to providing the resources and support necessary to effectively combat online exploitation and protect the children of our community.The selection of Detectives Loudermilk, Goldner, and Funkhouser , underlines our dedication to this mission,” the news release said.
