Pros and cons of Realme 12 Pro
Strong Points

- Curved AMOLED display
Cons
design and display
Starting with the Realme 11 Pro, the company has focused not only on the hardware but also on the design. The Realme 12 Pro continues that tradition, with the company partnering with luxury watchmaker Ollivier Savéo for the smartphone.
Realme 12 Pro comes with vegan leather with premium silicone material that is stain resistant. This gives the device a premium feel and makes it comfortable to hold. This device comes in two color options: Navigator Beige and Submarine Blue. We tested the Submarine Blue color variation.
The device has a large circular camera module on the back with gold accents around it. Large gold stripes from top to bottom give it a unique look.
The main body has a curved back and curved display, making it easy to hold. Also, you don’t have to worry about fingerprints on your smartphone.
The curved design and 190g weight make it easy to use with one hand.
The large circular camera module houses a triple camera setup and an LED flash. You can also see the Realme branding at the bottom.
It has a plastic frame on the side. The left side is plain, and the right side is equipped with a volume rocker and power button.
The top has a speaker, grill, and microphone.
The bottom has a SIM tray, microphone, USB Type-C port, and secondary speaker grill.
As for the display, the device features a large 6.7-inch Full HD+ curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 950 nits of brightness. The resolution and refresh rate are average for this segment, but it’s good to see a curved AMOLED display, usually reserved for premium smartphones.
The display provides a good visual experience with sufficient brightness even under direct sunlight. Provides you with a better visual experience while watching videos. The display is almost unchanged compared to its predecessor.
Software and performance
In terms of software, the Realme 12 Pro 5G runs on Android 14 with the company’s Realme UI 5.0 out of the box. For those who don’t know, Realme UI offers a highly customized user experience and allows users to customize many things on their device according to their preferences.
Realme continues to provide a lot of bloatware on its smartphones. While setting up your device, you’ll see a recommended apps screen filled with advertisements for various applications you can install. You can skip this, but your device will have bloatware installed such as Facebook, FinShell Pay, Linkedin, Sharechat, etc. These apps can be easily uninstalled.
The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset and offers decent performance in this price range. Equipped with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, it can handle multitasking with ease. I tried Call of Duty: Mobile on this device at 60 FPS and the game handled smoothly without any stuttering.
Realme 12 Pro 5G, like its predecessor, packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. The smartphone can be fully charged in about 51 minutes and lasts for a day with regular calling, browsing, streaming, and casual gaming.
camera
Realme 12 Pro 5G features a triple camera setup on the back. The device comes with a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP telephoto lens. Compared to Realme 11 Pro 5G, the camera has been significantly enhanced.
The new 32MP telephoto lens offers 2x optical zoom and 4x in-sensor zoom.
The Realme 12 Pro has good color consistency on both the primary and telephoto sensors and can take good photos even in sunlight conditions. The Realme 12 Pro can capture good images with minimal noise and accurate colors, making it a good option for those looking for a good camera setup.
Even in low light, the device can take decent images, although some images felt a bit saturated.
The smartphone can take decent portraits with proper edge detection.
verdict
Overall, the Realme 12 Pro is a good smartphone that offers a great display, design, and a decent camera at an affordable price. This device is a great upgrade over the previous one. However, be aware that there is still a lot of bloatware on your device that you need to deal with.
If you are looking for an affordable mid-range smartphone, the Realme 12 Pro is worth considering.
