Artificial intelligence has long been believed to help students pass exams and make their day at work easier, but now it’s making its way into the bedroom too.
Patricia Lopez introduces a technique that helps up to 30 percent of adult men who suffer from premature ejaculation last longer during sex.
MyHixel is a meaty sex toy with a companion app. These combine to train men to lose in bed longer, and trials have shown they can increase endurance by up to 7 times.
Lopez said she was inspired to create the device because she felt that most of the previous sex toys for men didn’t focus on sexual health and were “very explicit.” told.
Myhixel currently has 30,000 units sold and sales are increasing.
Control devices are effective for men with primary premature ejaculation (those who always have a problem) and secondary premature ejaculation (those who develop premature ejaculation later in life).
“It’s also beneficial for men who want to improve their technique,” Lopez says.
“Ultimately, we are teaching men how to control the mechanisms involved in this process,” Lopez said.
“It’s amazing how most men have no idea how it works or how it can be controlled.”
“This is very difficult for a brand like ours,” Lopez said. “Women talk about sexual issues in a very natural way and are open to it, whereas about 80% of men are They won’t ask for help at home,” he said. They don’t talk to their friends. Most of the time we look for solutions on the internet.
Lopez worked with doctors and sex therapists to design an app and device that work together to overcome premature ejaculation, which affects up to a third of men at some point in their lives.
“The doctors we worked with said, ‘Yes, we need to include products that emulate the feeling of actual penetration, because otherwise there will be a gap between the training phase and the actual penetration,” Lopez said. That’s what I thought. That way, users can receive training in a very realistic way. ”
This app utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy delivered through videos to treat premature ejaculation. “This is typical treatment for sex therapists,” Lopez said.
The in-app video-based cognitive therapy is progressive and uses machine learning and AI to customize “lessons” for each user.
“This program uses machine learning from the beginning of the user’s journey to adapt to the user’s needs, and progress is determined by the user’s results,” said Lopez.
Lopez said the device went through three clinical trials and was published in scientific journals, including the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
In trials, some men were able to increase their duration by up to seven times.
“At first it started at two minutes, and then the program could last up to 14 minutes,” Lopez said. It is believed that the entire group no longer suffers from premature ejaculation. ”
On average over three trials, users can start at 3 minutes and continue for 10 to 11 minutes before quitting the program.
The $320 Myhixel II device connects to the app via Bluetooth and has an IPX7 waterproof rating, so it can be submerged in water for washing.
The app also offers nutrition, fitness, and mindfulness plans designed by sexual health experts to improve performance.
Patricia Lopez, who studied tourism in college, was working in marketing for a major sex toy brand when she noticed a lack of products aimed at men.
She said: “I used to attend events and trade shows that were held in that space. It’s a space that has more brands and products geared toward women. Women-focused brands typically launch new products and update their products. It was the leading brand.
Lopez first noticed in 2016 that brands were moving towards a “health and wellness” approach in the women’s market and thought the approach was smart and interesting.
“This is a way to eliminate taboos and open up more sales channels,” she says. “To me, it was very smart. I didn’t think anyone was doing this for the men’s market – most products were very explicit.”
Mr. Lopez spoke with sex therapists, doctors, and neurologists to understand how the product can address male sexual symptoms such as premature ejaculation.
“The feedback I received was pretty positive,” she said.
She pitched it to the sex toy company she worked for, but “they weren’t interested,” she said. She then retired and founded her own company in her native Spain.
She collaborated with Spain’s Institute of Sexology to develop a product that includes not only physical toys, but also educational content from therapists.
“We found that there was a lack of education among men when it came to sexual health,” she says.
“We’ll turn it into a gamified online program,” Lopez said. We offer video tutorials to educate men about anatomy. The men then have to use the device to overcome various challenges. They learn to control their bodies and minds. ”
In the coming months, the company is working on a new product aimed at men with erectile dysfunction.
