GameScent is a new product that uses AI to emit scents associated with gameplay on your display. The company said in a press release that the patent-pending adapter allows the device to use real-time audio cues to emit scents, such as the smell of rain in a storm or gunshots in a first-person shooter. the game you are playing.
As you can see in the gallery above, the GameScent is a small box that can be connected to an HDMI or 3.5mm audio jack, making it compatible with PCs, consoles, and VR headsets.
The device uses replaceable cartridges to “continue your sensory adventure,” according to the company. However, you don’t have to worry about a smoky explosion smell in your home hours after you finish playing, because there’s a “Clean Air” neutralizer that eliminates odors after a gaming session.
“Research shows that the sense of smell is more strongly retained in long-term memory than anything else,” GameScent President Casey Bunce wrote in a press release. “With GameScent, we want to make gamers’ experiences more exciting and memorable than ever before.”
GameScent includes six scents out of the box.

Additional scents will be available for purchase in the future. Upcoming scents include Sports Arena, Blood, and Fresh Cut Grass.
GameScent is currently available at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and GameStop, and the product is currently on sale at Amazon for $149.99 (regularly $179.99). Of course, if you don’t want to buy it (yet) but happen to be at PAX East next month, GameScent will be demoing the product at their booth.
