There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the potential of 5G connectivity. 5G was originally intended to improve every aspect of our lives. However, the deployment of this technology is not progressing at the pace expected. Thankfully, things are changing. A recent report examining the critical role 5G plays in today’s digital environment found that 71% of decision makers at mobile network operators (MNOs) and public and private sector organizations in the UK, Ireland and the US feel more confident. He says he has it. Now more than ever with 5G. In fact, 81% of U.S.-based public and private companies say 5G will have a direct impact on their organization’s performance.
Increased confidence in 5G is a good thing. However, continuing the rollout of 5G is not without its challenges. The truth is, according to this same report, 96% of respondents are facing increasing hurdles. Effectively deploying 5G infrastructure and densifying deployed networks can be complex, time-consuming, costly, and labor-intensive. For respondents, that means justifying capital investments, navigating the political and regulatory environment, and getting more fiber in the ground. Confidence in 5G is clear, but the path to 5G densification is not far along.
So what could be the solution? How can MNOs, public and private organizations overcome these challenges? 5G will require more fiber, more cell sites, and more investment for widespread adoption. The right deployment model should support that.

5G success depends on implementing an effective network construction strategy. This means making physical and financial investments. These investments will be critical to unlocking new 5G use cases, both for companies looking to become the factories of the future and for MNOs looking for new ways to engage with their subscribers. But investing requires money. Take MNOs as an example. As MNOs face declining profits and ever-increasing budget pressures, high initial investment costs are an unwelcome expense. The same is true for both public and private sector organizations, who need creative ways to deploy and densify their 5G networks with maximum ROI. One such creative method is neutral hosts.
Neutral hosts provide the ability to deploy, operate, and lease connectivity infrastructure. This will give both public and private sector customers access to reliable, advanced connectivity that can deliver their services and accelerate 5G deployment. All of this is accomplished without the need to build or maintain your own infrastructure, as infrastructure investments can be shared neutrally across multiple customers, reducing costs for all customers.
In that sense, the neutral host approach works well to address the key challenges faced by those responsible for building infrastructure, especially MNOs. Consolidating network security also enables economies of scale. Neutral hosts can implement centralized security measures to protect shared infrastructure. This ensures consistent and robust security policies and facilitates a coordinated response to security incidents.A unified approach will be easier than all her MNOs trying to manage
