WiCrypt (Nigeria)
Again, according to WiCrypt, a distributed physical infrastructure network (DePIN) refers to a network of physical devices or resources that are distributed across different locations and operated in a decentralized manner.
WiCrypt allows anyone to provide WiFi through custom-built WiCrypt Hotspot Creator devices. A WiCrypt host receives fees from users who access his WiFi, but is also incentivized by WiCrypt for long device uptime through its native token $WNT.
WiCrypt was launched in Africa in 2018 as Africa’s first peer-to-peer mobile internet sharing network and subsequently entered into an exclusive partnership with the Enugu State Government of Nigeria to provide internet services to its citizens. The company was launched by its founders before becoming profitable in 2020.
