Orbic also treats its electric bikes as outdoor streaming machines. To achieve this objective, the company has equipped the two-wheeler with a 64-megapixel camera on the front to assist in live streaming while riding. Above the head-up display is another 2-megapixel camera that also acts as an infotainment unit.
As mentioned earlier, Orbic promotes e-bikes as connected devices, not just electric vehicles. Orbic’s official website also highlights 5G support provided by Verizon and support for the Android operating system. The display shows details such as navigation information, route tracking, battery details, and other information.
Thanks to 5G support, Orbic bikes can also act as standalone internet hotspots for outdoor trips. Another great perk is bike-to-bike connectivity. This creates a shared experience for riders in a group and improves safety with features like real-time tracking. As for safety, there’s also a neat helmet detection system that only starts the bike when the rider puts on a helmet.
In terms of performance, the e-bike has a top speed of 45 km/h, but the company warns that local speed limits may change the top speed figure slightly. At this time, the company has not disclosed the price and release date of the 5G-compatible electric bicycle.
