Robert (Bob) Costello I am the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). In his CIO role, he leads the agency’s efforts to develop, deploy, secure and support agency technology solutions.
Prior to that, he was a public sector private strategic advisor at World Wide Technology. In this role, he works with federal customers to identify and solve their most complex challenges, leveraging his extensive experience with federal agencies to create innovative solutions that meet customer needs and deliver on their missions. Developed and delivered the solution.
Bob has worked at DHS for more than 13 years, gaining extensive experience in both Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection. He also served as Executive Director (XD) in CBP’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) Enterprise Network and Technology Support Directorate (ENTSD), where he concurrently served in the role of his XD Deputy at CBP. Ta. Directorate General of Border Enforcement and Management Systems. During his tenure at ENTSD, he oversaw a significant increase in the use of the agency’s Mobility platform, modernizing DHS’ largest data network, improving connectivity to his cloud service providers. He also oversaw the Agency’s migration to the TIC 3.0 framework and implemented his solution at the Network Level. He directed the agency’s land mobile radio network, operations of the National Law Enforcement Communications Center, and maintenance of non-intrusive inspection systems utilized at all ports of entry. He also directed all software development for the U.S. Border Patrol and all mission support systems for the agency, transitioning over 100 applications to his SECDEVOPS development methodology. He was also deeply involved in implementing his IT solutions against COVID-19, redesigning remote access solutions, and introducing several new applications.
