Red Sea Global and Zain KSA have announced the world’s first zero-carbon 5G network powered by 100% renewable energy.
The tower will be located within the Six Senses Southern Dunes Resort in the Red Sea and will bring guests “the highest 5G connection speeds in the region,” according to a release from Red Sea Global.
Utilizing 3D printing technology, the tower is designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape by mimicking rock formations, minimizing the tower’s visual impact on the surrounding environment.
The network is also set to be powered by over 760,000 solar panels built by Red Sea Global to power the entire 28,000km2 destination.
“We aim to be a global pioneer in renewable tourism development, adopting 100% renewable energy in the Red Sea, our flagship destination, and achieving net conservation impact by 2040. We are working towards achieving 30%. These ambitious goals require ambitious partners. Our cooperation with Zain KSA goes beyond telecommunications and extends to sustainability and environmental protection ” said John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global.
