So far this year, I’ve covered a lot of things about Quectel, an innovator in IoT solutions. (If you want to stay up to date, this is a great place to start.) Its product and service lineup includes EVB kits, GNSS modules, automotive modules, satellite and LPWA modules, Wi-Fi modules, antennas, 2G/3G , 4G LTE/4G LTE-A, and 5G modules.
Today, we’ll focus on two of the combinations mentioned above: 4G, 5G, and antennas.
That’s the crux of this news. Quectel announced his six new antennas designed to provide robust connectivity for IoT devices. These new products cover a wide range of IoT use cases.
We have outlined the technical details below. All with comprehensive antenna design support from Quectel. This includes simulation, testing, and custom manufacturing to meet specific application needs for IoT.
of Cuctel YC0001CA is a 4G surface mount design (SMD) antenna optimized for LTE, LTE-M, and NB-IoT networks. This low-profile antenna measures just 35.0 x 8.5 x 3.0 mm, operates in the bands 700-960 MHz and 1710-2700 MHz, and is both RoHS and REACH compliant for use in sensitive environments. Additionally, the antenna can be supplied in tape and reel for high capacity applications and is compatible with all of Quectel’s 4G, 3G, 2G and LPWA IoT modules.
of Cuctel YC0018CA is a 5G SMD antenna that covers the 5G NR Sub-6GHz frequency band. Depending on the ground plane, the antenna is designed to be mounted directly to a printed circuit board (PCB) using a traditional PCB reflow process. The antenna measures 40.0 x 7.0 x 3.0 mm, operates from -40 °C to +85 °C, and weighs 15 g. This antenna can be used in conjunction with other 5G antennas to achieve multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) performance. This MIMO capability provides increased reliability, improved TCO, and other benefits.
of Cuctel YECN028AA is a 5G or NTN external antenna that supports frequency bands 410-470MHz, 617-960MHz, and 1425-6000MHz. The antenna measures 225 x 54.5 x 13.0 mm and is IP66, RoHS, and REACH compliant. This means it is widely applicable to use cases, especially in sensitive environments. It features high efficiency and gain, enabling high-speed data transmission in all directions. Use this antenna for everything from access points to outdoor equipment to real-time monitoring and more.
of Cuctel YEMX223J1A 5G x 2 combo antenna. The ultra-wideband antenna box is also backward compatible and supports 2G and 3G networks, Cat-M and NB-IoT. Two cable length connections from 450 to 5000 mm are designed for easy integration and simplify custom installations. Measures 186.0 x 176.0 x 100.5mm, supports frequency bands 410-470MHz, 617-960MHz, 1420-1520MHz, 1710-2690MHz, 3300-3800MHz, 4000-6000MHz, and is IP67, RoHS, and REACH compliant .
of Cuctel YEMX425J1A 5G x 4 combo antenna. Like the aforementioned antennas, it also offers backward compatibility with 2G, 3G, Cat-M, and NB-IoT. In terms of compatibility, it also works with Quectel’s RM520x series IoT modules. It is durable thanks to its enclosure and measures 186.0 x 176.0 x 150 mm. The combo antenna supports frequency bands 410-470 MHz, 617-2690 MHz, and 3300-6000 MHz and is both RoHS and REACH compliant.
lastly, Cuctel YSIS001AA The metal spring antenna operates in the 412-427 MHz band, 433-435 MHz band, and 450-470 MHz band, the latter being compatible with LTE B31 plus EU433 applications. Measuring 29.0 x 7.0 x 7.90 mm, this RoHS and REACH compliant antenna is easily attached to the host device PCB using a process defined as “traditional SMD reflow process” and provides high efficiency during start-up. Masu.
As mentioned earlier, these details were technical. It is certainly so. That said, the technical part often carries a lot of weight when it comes to compatibility, connectivity options, and what each product can actually do.
said Norbert Muhrer, President and CSO of Quectel Wireless Solutions.
“We are pleased to further strengthen our comprehensive antenna lineup with the addition of these new antennas and evaluation boards. Internet of Things applications increasingly demand high-performance antennas to meet specific needs. Whether it’s for competitive costs or access to specific network technologies in specific frequency bands, robust and secure features such as IP ratings and RoHS and REACH compliance Even if it’s because of its unique characteristics.”
“The expanded Quectel antenna range is sure to meet the needs of our customers’ devices and deployments,” added Muhrer. “And, of course, backed up by our design support and implementation experience, along with a comprehensive range of widely deployed modules.”
