In terms of design, the new OnePlus 12 looks a lot like the OnePlus 11 from a distance. In my opinion, previous generations got a lot of things right, but they don’t fix what isn’t broken. What I love about this smartphone is that it’s unabashedly itself.
In an age where smartphones are becoming slimmer and undergoing many design changes each time a new one is added, this smartphone is quite bulky. I reviewed the Flowy Emerald color variant, which has a matte finish on the back, and in my opinion, this one is perfect for you. The OnePlus 12 comes with a triple rear camera setup tuned by Hasselblad. This is pretty much the same setup we’ve seen with his foldable OnePlus Open. The triple rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 64MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 48MP ultra-wide camera. It performs well when it comes to video, but the lack of a 0.5X option can be a bit disappointing for content creators who prefer to use wide-angle lens images.
As for the display, it features a 6.82-inch QHD+ LTPO display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate and support for ProXDR and Dolby Vision. This is because it comes with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits which is also the highlight of this device. All the other companies are copying the iPhone, which in my opinion has the same curved display on the edge, but OnePlus has its own identity.
Now, if you want to sell smartphones in India in 2024 and take a solid approach to cutting through the clutter, as OnePlus does, you can do this with good software and good hardware. Must be backed up.

As mentioned earlier, with the OnePlus 12, the company has unabashedly expressed itself. They haven’t really settled down, but they haven’t introduced Al features like the Samsung Galaxy S24 series either. However, if you don’t have the budget to buy the higher-end Galaxy S24 Ultra model or iPhone 15 Pro Max and still want flagship performance, the OnePlus 12 is a good choice. It has stable performance, a decent camera, and a great software experience.
If you’re on a more limited budget but still want bang for your buck, there’s the OnePlus 12R, which launches at a starting price of Rs 39,999. OnePlus 12 is a practical flagship that you can choose to buy in 2024, but with all the new features coming to the market, the company will soon have to cover a lot of ground with upcoming software updates.
