NEW DELHI: Finnish telecom equipment maker Nokia has partnered with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to jointly research 6G technologies and use cases that have direct social impact in India.
Nokia and IISc will collaborate at Nokia’s newly opened 6G Lab in Bangalore, where they will study the application of machine learning (ML) to 6G radio technology, 6G architecture and 6G air interface, Nokia said in a statement on Friday. Stated.
Nokia and IISc will also jointly develop reference architectures, software frameworks, and algorithms, with the aim of contributing joint research to the 6th generation technology and standards ecosystem.
While the nature of the collaboration is global, Nokia and IISc will continue to explore the use of AI to improve transportation safety, strengthen health care, and improve road safety. There will be a particular focus on 6G use cases that address areas of particular importance to India, such as the development of “network as sensor” technology.
