The next generation of Netgear Orbi is here. The new Orbi 970 series aims to future-proof your network by moving to the WiFi 7 standard to support high speeds on many devices at the same time.
Built on the foundation of WiFi 6E, WiFi 7 extends channels to 320MHz. The Orbi 970 series leverages this ability to ensure seamless connectivity throughout your home, supporting all your devices simultaneously. This is achieved through several key features, including a 10 Gig Internet port combined with 10Gbps and 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports. Quad-band technology and enhanced backhaul maintain uninterrupted, high-speed WiFi throughout your home, and Smart Connect automatically provides the fastest WiFi band for each connected device.
Orbi 970 is protected with Netgear Armor, powered by Bitdefender, one of the most popular antivirus solutions available today. Users can also access easily managed parental controls to track and restrict online activity. Basic features are free, but a premium subscription is also available.
Orbi comes as a two-pack with one satellite (Orbi RBE972). Or, if you need extended coverage, it comes as a 3-pack (Orbi RBE973) with two satellites to cover up to 8,200 square feet. – 10% more than previous model to support up to 200 devices. Additional satellites can be added to further extend coverage, and each is equipped with a Fast Ethernet port.
The package, which includes one year of Netgear Armor and Orbi with two satellites, is available for pre-order now and costs £2,199.99. Prices for the 2-pack bundle and individual satellites are TBA.
KitGuru says: At this price point, not many people will be lining up to buy this for their home. However, for businesses, this level of spending may be worth it.
