While Tesla is working on several projects, a mysterious prototype was discovered at Giga Berlin during a routine drone flight. Parts of the car were covered in camouflage, leading to speculation about what it might represent. Some believe this is a Redwood prototype, while others believe it could be part of a Model Y redesign.

Tesla began deliveries of the Cybertruck and the refreshed Model 3 last year, capping off a busy year of new vehicle development. All eyes are now on the refreshed Model Y, also known as Project His Juniper, and the affordable third-generation model known by the code name. “Redwood” Even though the latter is not scheduled to be released this year, people still consider it the most important Tesla model of all time.
Not only that, but you’ll see it wherever you see covered prototypes that express Tesla’s design language. During a recent drone flight in Berlin, Tesla enthusiast Tobias Lind photographed an interesting prototype that was sitting next to another Model Y in a parking lot. From a distance, it looked somehow different from the Model Y that was nearby. Unfortunately, Tobias only discovered the prototype after uploading a video to his YouTube and does not have a clearer picture. The image is too blurry to draw any conclusions.
Even this didn’t stop people from going wild after seeing the images on social media. However, opinions differ on the nature of the prototype. Some believe this is a prototype of the next-generation EV that Tesla is preparing to release at an affordable price of about $25,000. This is truly incredible considering that development of the Gen-3 platform is currently underway at Giga Texas. This means that the first prototypes will likely be tested in Texas and possibly California sooner than anywhere else.
Tesla has said Giga Berlin will eventually produce the next generation, but EV In the future, this will probably not happen. Production costs in Germany are too high to justify producing cost-conscious EV models domestically. If Tesla really wants to build the Redwood EV in Europe, it should look elsewhere with more favorable wages. So far, there is no sign that Tesla is preparing to start producing new models at Giga Berlin.
If the car in the video is actually a new model, it’s more than likely a refreshed Model Y that people are calling Project Juniper. Indeed, it makes more sense that Tesla is testing a new version of the Model Y, an EV it already produces at Giga Berlin. This theory is further supported by a white Model Y crossing in front of the camera, giving us another perspective. You can see that the white Model Y and the covered prototype don’t look much different, but the latter looks smaller than the other Model Y behind it.
Of course, there is also a crowd that thinks the video is fake, especially since an unknown prototype appears to be floating in the air. This may have happened because it was lifted on a platform that was invisible to the camera from that angle. Whatever it is, Tesla is certainly hiding more secrets than we know.
