Honor has been in the news a lot in recent months, which means that this Chinese phone manufacturer has been pretty active in the smartphone market. The Magic V Flip is one of the most interesting foldable phones available on the market, while Honor’s 200 series phones are very competitive, especially in Europe, where prices are often higher than in other regions. Today we’re going to talk about a much cheaper Honor phone that’s set to launch in China, but will very likely also be launched in other markets where Honor sells its products.
The unannounced Honor Play 60 Plus is a budget smartphone that was recently spotted on China Telecom’s site (via GeeksDigit ). Additionally, the smartphone has also been spotted on the 3C certification website, suggesting that Honor will be launching the smartphone soon.
The good news is that thanks to these listings, we not only know what the phone will look like, but also most of its key specs. For example, the Honor Play 60 Plus will be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, a chipset designed specifically for affordable 5G phones.
Additionally, the phone features a larger 6.77-inch LCD HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole that houses a 5-megapixel selfie camera. There’s a dual camera setup at the back, consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
The Honor Play 60 Plus comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage, which is quite generous for a budget smartphone, and the device is powered by a large 6,000mAh battery that supports 35W wired charging.
But there’s more! Honor’s Play 60 Plus will be available in three colours in China: Phantom Black, Wonderland Green and Moonlight White. According to the China Telecom website, the phone will be priced at 1,500 RMB, or about $205/€195.
