LOUISVILLE, KY — Editor’s note: The video above is a live interview with Metro Councilman Stuart Benson, in which he talks about bringing high-speed internet to his district in February 2024.
About 2,000 rural households in eastern and southeastern Jefferson County will soon have access to high-speed internet.
Spearheaded by District 20 City Councilman Stuart Benson, the project has been in the works for more than a decade.
Benson said high-speed internet is “a necessity for business, education and civic life.”
“This is without a doubt one of the most important projects we have undertaken since the beginning of the combined government,” Benson said. “I’m excited to announce that the entire county will soon have access to the broadband they need to do business, educate themselves, and make this community a stronger Metro Louisville.”
Federal and state grants and support from Spectrum Inc. made this expansion possible.
