Ericsson ERIC recently announced that it has collaborated with Orange Spain, a prominent mobile operator, to deploy a private 5G network for business-to-business (B2B) customers across the country. Orange Spain leverages Ericsson’s dual-mode 5G core to power its 5G standalone network infrastructure. Ericsson’s products also include local packet gateway solutions that are installed at B2B customer premises to provide local breakout.
Local breakout facilitates local data processing and reduces dependence on centralized infrastructure. Local service and direct access to the Internet minimizes latency and increases throughput. This feature is essential for applications that require real-time responsiveness. Many companies have strict rules regarding storing and transmitting information. Local breakout meets these security and privacy requirements by ensuring that your data remains on-premises and isolated from public networks. Additionally, its small footprint, easy installation, and ease of management make it a good choice for service providers.
Orange leverages Ericsson’s industry-leading 5G portfolio to deliver premium services on and off enterprise premises with a network infrastructure that integrates both public and private networks. The integrated network configuration also allows Orange to offer competitive pricing.
Private 5G networks offer transformational opportunities for businesses in the B2B sector. This allows organizations to customize connectivity solutions according to their exact needs. In addition to advanced security measures, it also provides real-time automation that significantly increases productivity and makes operations more cost-effective.
These advanced features enable B2B clients to rapidly adopt new digital technologies, reduce time to market, and increase revenue potential. These cutting-edge capabilities from Ericsson serve as the backbone of Orange’s robust network infrastructure. This enables companies to drive innovation, develop advanced use cases, and strengthen their competitiveness in their industries.
The emergence of the smartphone market and subsequent use of mobile broadband has dramatically increased user demands for coverage speed and quality. Network tuning and optimization is always required to maintain performance as traffic increases. Ericsson is pushing hard among carriers to expand their network coverage and upgrade their networks to faster speeds and higher capacity. The company is reportedly the world’s largest supplier of LTE technology with a significant market share and has established numerous LTE networks around the world.
ERIC focuses on 5G system development and has undertaken many notable efforts to establish itself as a market leader. The company believes that 5G standardization will become the basis for the digitalization of industry and broadband. Ericsson expects his mainstream 4G products to be replaced by 5G technology in the future. Currently, there are 157 live 5G networks across 66 countries around the world.
The company’s stock has risen 4.6% over the past year, compared to the industry’s rise of 10.7%.
