I recently found a fan trailer. Grand Theft Auto VII, Egypt It was created by German music video director Yonatan Dor and published on YouTube. His company, Dor Brothers, has developed deep expertise in generative AI by using it in the production of over 200 music videos. One of the things I’ve been tracking for Forbes is the rapid development of cinematic AI. So, of course, we already knew about the incredible AI-enhanced music video by the Doe Brothers for supergroup SiM. hide and seek. When the trailer for GTA was released, I loved his AI movie director Caleb and Shelby Ward, Dave Clark, and Nicholas Neubert, nice just like he had to be in Aunties. We reached out to Instagram to hear his story. I wanted to know more about how he used AI to create this.
Dor frequently speaks at AI events and collaborates with teams at Microsoft and Pika Labs. ” hide and seek SiM’s project began when the UNFD record label asked him to create a music video that captured SiM’s unique aesthetic. In just 5 days (!) of production, we quickly conceptualized a style that blended traditional Japanese art with an explosive modern twist that matched SiM’s artistic identity. We were provided with a very minimal synopsis by the label: “Devil/Demon, Bat, Resurrection (Resurrection), Playing Dead, Immortality”, but this is where our imaginations took over. He visualized scenes such as a demon playing a guitar, giant speakers overwhelming the city, and an apocalyptic alarm sound that says, “The end is near, SiM is here,” mirroring the band’s intense live performance.
For the song’s softer parts, they reimagined “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” to fit the video’s modern vibe, leaning into traditional Japanese aesthetics. The video ends with a touching image of a man with open eyes in a destroyed city. This symbolizes a return to pure, unadulterated art. A total of 2230 images were generated to create this video. This number does not include additional unused clips (+300 to 500) created using Pika Labs.
for GTA VII – Egypt For this project, Dor leveraged Midjourney’s “Style Reference” feature to reimagine the iconic video game with a unique twist. “The idea of setting a GTA game in Egypt sparked our imagination, combining Rockstar’s trademark humor and twist,” he said. To achieve this vision, Dor used:
1. In the process of creating an initial image using the style reference tool.
2. Pika Labs animates these images.
3. Photoshop for image retouching and cleanup.
4. Eleven Lab for dramatic narration using AI.
5. Adobe Premiere for video editing.
6. Amazing AI for image upscaling and sharpening.
There’s another Do brother, who used to make music videos with Do, but he’s doing other things now. “I hope he comes back someday,” he said. “But I also feel like the animators I work with are like brothers.” Dor said that in 2022, when a very early version of Generative AI was introduced, it only had a few hundred views. He said he started using AI after discovering YouTube videos. That was before he had Midjourney or Stable Diffusion. For those interested, it was called VQGan. “At first I was skeptical that it was real, and although the first image was terrible, I tried it and was amazed at its potential. This experience convinced me of the potential of this tool and gave it a try. I started spending 8 to 12 hours a day getting used to it.”
“I first found clients on Fiverr by offering AI music videos. This was actually the first time AI visuals were offered on the platform,” Doll explains. “From there, we also created some YouTube videos that got attention and gained an early following by sharing images in public groups. We now get clients from a variety of sources for different projects. I’m collecting them.”
Dor pointed to the dramatic changes we are witnessing in Generative AI tools and predicted that next year we will see a significantly different level of AI-generated content. Yesterday, OpenAI announced a new generative AI tool called Sora. Sora is revolutionizing the AI video generation scene like never before. So much has changed over the past few months that it’s hard to summarize it easily. This technology is evolving at an incredible pace, with advances nearly doubling every month. If I were to produce older videos now, I would have a much wider range of tools at my disposal. There are now many tools that allow attractive combinations of different techniques. ” AI threatens to disrupt media, social media, and our personal communications. What would happen if we knew what was true? You’ll understand right away.
