The new 5G Americas whitepaper maps the broad spectrum of 5G use cases, details advances in network architecture, and highlights fixed wireless access (FWA) and private 5G (P5G) networks.
Bellevue, Washington. – November 9, 2023: With almost 87% of the world connected to 4G LTE or higher mobile technology, 5G is emerging as a source of commercial solutions for smart connectivity. Today, 5G Americas, the voice for 5G and beyond in the Americas, outlines his framework for evaluating 5G use cases such as FWA and private 5G networks based on industry and consumer supply. We have published a white paper titled “5G Use Cases”. request.
Chris Pearson, president of 5G Americas, said 5G is in the early stages of addressing a variety of use cases. “Many customers are already enjoying mobile broadband enhanced with 5G smartphones, but new opportunities will be solution-driven,” Pearson said. “Aggressive regulatory action to expand spectrum and close the digital divide is critical to the 5G opportunity.”
The 2×2 matrix framework in this paper categorizes 5G applications into four quadrants. Each quadrant represents a unique combination of market readiness and technology development, providing valuable insight into the current and future landscape of 5G. This quadrant identifies successful case studies, unmet pain points, uncertain future considerations, and potential opportunities for 5G use cases.
Additionally, key topics covered in this latest 5G Americas whitepaper include:
-
- Consumer Perspectives on Past Communications Use Cases
-
- A new lens for evaluating 5G use cases
-
- The role of network architecture and technology
-
- Recommendations for evaluating 5G use cases
“We’re excited to partner with T-Mobile to ensure that our customers have the best experience possible,” said Paul Bongaarts, senior member of technical staff at T-Mobile US and white paper working group co-leader. “The 5G ecosystem is maturing and new breakthrough use cases are starting to emerge. With the growth of standalone networks, 5G will continue to be at the forefront of innovation and enable new applications and solutions. ”
