we were ready.
Right after the Super Bowl Verizon ad where Beyoncé tries to break the internet by doing all kinds of things, she actually did drop new music.
The ad mentions that Tony Hale plays her assistant and that his character Gary Walsh plays the role of Press. Bodyman of Selena Meyer (Veep). She’s trying to break the internet by selling lemonade from an actual stall.
When that doesn’t work, Beyoncé says, “Time for a surprise drop,” and the video cuts to her iconic singer playing the saxophone. This won’t break the Internet yet, but it will break Tony.
Tough times call for drastic measures. And by drastic measures, I mean Beyoncé I, the singer’s robot AI counterpart. Because it’s not enough to break the internet, Beyoncé channels her inner Barbie as Barbay. And she’s running for Beyoncé in the US (isn’t she already running?).
“What about the first woman to launch the first rocket for the first performance in space?” she asks.
no. “It still works,” Tony replies.
“Okay. They’re ready. Drop new music.”
So Beyoncé’s website has been updated to reveal the second act of her 2022 country-inspired Renaissance sequel, scheduled for release on March 29th.
Two new tracks “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” are now available on most major music platforms. According to Stereogum, Beyoncé wrote his first single with Brian Bates, Elizabeth Lowell Borland, Megan Buelow, Nathan Ferraro, and Raphael Sadiq. On 16 Carriages, she co-wrote with her Saadiq, Atia Boggs, and Dave Hamelin. Robert Randolph also plays steel guitar on this song.
Both Texas Hold’em and 16 Carriage also have official visualizers on Beyoncé’s YouTube channel.
Beyoncé’s “Act II” will be released on March 29th.
