China’s mini-dramas have experienced significant growth and innovative development, industry experts said at the forum of the 11th China Internet Audio & Video Convention held recently.
This thriving genre not only encourages high-quality content creation, but also provides a technology validation scenario for China’s entertainment industry.
Feng Shengyong, an official of the National Radio and Television Bureau, said the original mini-drama should resonate with today’s viewers and provide an opportunity to understand the spirit of the district and the trends of the times.
Many high-quality mini-dramas have appeared on Chinese streaming platforms and have become hits.
Wang Juan, vice president of Tencent Video, said that the company will strengthen its support for this genre.
“The popularity of microdramas has brought new innovation opportunities to the industry,” Wang said. “In the long term, Microdrama’s long-term development will be based on supporting high-quality content. We will continue to cooperate with more talented creators to produce better works. .”
We will also continue to explore the creation of Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) mini-dramas to support industry technology development and capacity building.
Meanwhile, Tencent Video has collaborated with multiple cities in China to jointly launch a plan to integrate mini-dramas with culture and tourism across the country. There are many locations that have the potential to become popular filming locations for dramas.
China’s best mini-dramas will increasingly reach the world, spreading Chinese stories and showcasing the wonderfully diverse Chinese culture.
