At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, ZTE unveiled a number of new products under its Nubia brand centered around the theme “Better for All”, all of which come at a relatively low price. This is the starting price. Here’s an overview.
Nubia Flip 5G
ZTE calls the Nubia Flip 5G “the first flip smartphone for young people,” which may refer to the $599 starting price. The chip is powered by his Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 system (from 2022 onwards). The hinge is made of steel alloy and unfolds the phone to reveal a 6.9-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
ZTE claims the screen is “wrinkle-free” when opened. This is a great advancement since many foldable phones have a non-flat central area where the screen curves. On the outside there are two his 50MP cameras and an outer screen.
The Nubia Flip is a low-cost flip phone. It’s cheaper than the Moto Razr ($699.99), Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 ($999), and Moto Razr+ ($999). In person, the phone is quite thick and chunky. The hinge is sturdy, but it’s a little difficult to open with one hand.
Nubia Neo 2 5G
For gaming, ZTE launched Nubia Neo 2 5G. Prices start at $199 and feature ZTE’s custom software such as Gaming Space and dedicated touch shoulder buttons. The display is 6.72 inches with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Thanks to Neo 2’s 6,000mAh battery, it can be charged wired at 33W, so your gaming sessions will last for a long time. ZTE also touts its dual-speaker DTS:X Ultra audio.
Nubia focus series
There are two phones in this series: Nubia Focus 5G and Nubia Focus Pro 5G, both of which focus on camera performance. It is equipped with a 108MP dual camera system and features “the world’s only dual shooting button”. Both are powered by unnamed octa-core 6nm 5G chips with a maximum frequency of 2.2 GHz. You can launch the camera with a sliding shortcut, and there’s a dedicated button to capture images. Additionally, the Duo has a built-in 5,000mAh large capacity battery.
The Focus features a 6.6-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and four focal lengths. The Focus Pro features a larger 6.72-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and five focal lengths. The Focus series starts at just $199.
Nubian music series
This is something you don’t see in everyday life. This is a mobile phone that focuses on music. The Nubia Music series (starting at $149) is equipped with a speaker that ZTE says will make the phone “600% louder than the average model,” but how much is average? does not go into details. The Music series also features dual 3.5mm headphone jacks for sharing music.
Nubia Pad 3D II
Nubia Pad 3D II is the second generation of glasses-free 3D tablet from ZTE. This new model has 80% more 3D resolution and is 100% brighter in 3D mode compared to the old model. Nubia Pad 3D II uses eye tracking to display 3D images without the need for glasses and can display 3D media in portrait or landscape mode. The tablet can also take 2D content and convert it to 3D on the fly in real time. The 12.1-inch display has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels and a refresh rate of 144Hz.
The tablet is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, has 5G connectivity, up to 512GB of storage, and a 10,000mAh battery with 66W wired charging. As for the sound, it is equipped with quad speakers. Pad 3D II can capture 3D images and videos with its dual camera setup.
Global expansion
All of these devices will be available in Africa, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia starting in March. Exact prices may vary by region.
