A gift to all movie fans. WIFI Film Festival will be held again from April 19th to 22nd. The WIFI Film Festival is his two-day event in Topeka, Kansas where people can submit their films to a contest, along with various workshops.
The submission fee for creators, excluding local students, is $20. Those who want to attend the event are in luck, as this festival is free to attend. For those unable to attend in person, award results will be published on Facebook.
The festival isn’t just for locals. “We receive applications from over 100 countries around the world. We are an international festival,” says founder Matthew Nyquist. For those interested in the contest, WIFI Film Festival is accepting entries until April 1st of this year.
As for the workshop, Washburn English Professor Dr. Andy Farkas will be speaking about his book, as well as some comedic film conventions. Kansas City filmmaker Lolo Loren, radio host Ethan Jackson, pulpit producer Christian Watkins, entrepreneurship experts Rick Lujern, Sue Vicoli, and a panel of women filmmakers, as well as: Founding Trustee Alan Holtzman, known for films like . holocaust survivoreveryone will be present and provide event attendees with knowledge about their experience.
One of the previous posts was from Elvira Lind. letter roomStarring Oscar Isaac. But that doesn’t mean you need a big Hollywood actor to win something. There are also categories for local middle school and high school students, as well as Washburn University students and alumni.
The film festival began in 2019, “One of my collaborators in Hollywood first told me that we really should start a film festival there,” Nyquist says. “The idea was to connect students with professional filmmakers, not only by showing their work here, but also by bringing in guest speakers and workshops locally. In Hollywood, Washburn and People have helped foster community between local and Hollywood and professionals, including now the greater Topeka community.”
Aside from being forced to cancel in 2020 due to the pandemic, the WIFI Film Festival hasn’t missed a year since its launch. There are 22 awards up for grabs, with the overall winner receiving $100. There’s also a link tree for any links you need that aren’t here yet.
A free two-day chance to deep dive into the art of filmmaking is a great opportunity for anyone, regardless of skill level, to learn and grow in the field at the 2024 WIFI Film Festival.
