TOPEKA (KSNT) – Two separate issues that were causing statewide problems for Kansas government agencies were resolved Thursday.
On March 21, numerous government agencies in Kansas reported internet issues. This came at the same time that problems related to DMV facilities were being reported on a national level, Newsnation reported. Most issues in Kansas were reportedly resolved by 4 p.m.
Office of Information Technology Services (OITS) Director of Communications Allie Denning told 27 News on March 21 that two separate issues were reported. The first concerned the state of Kansas’ internet network, which OITS manages. She said internet access was temporarily cut off due to a hardware issue. The issue was resolved by 4:15 p.m. and all services were restored.
The second issue with national DMV service outages relates to outages first reported by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA). Denning also confirmed that this issue has been resolved.
“The network outage that affected multiple DMV offices across the country has been resolved. The Department of Treasury is now able to process motor vehicle and driver’s licenses.”
