Vodafone Fiji is confident that the successful testing of its 5G pilot network will pave the way for widespread adoption of 5G services, thereby improving overall connectivity and boosting Fiji’s economic growth.
This was granted to Vodafone Fiji by the government as a non-commercial license to conduct extensive user testing on the 5G pilot network.
Vodafone Fiji Acting Chief Executive Officer Rajnesh Prasad said this is an important step to ensure the network is ready for the commercial rollout of 5G services in the region.
Mr Prasad highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening connectivity across Fiji.
“Without a doubt, 5G is much faster than 4G, so about 10 times faster than 4G. This means that once our customers start using 5G on our network, they will have a better data experience. , lower latency, faster streaming, and the ability to stream HD and 4K.”
Prasad reaffirmed that 5G networks will not harm human life or the environment.
“According to a study conducted by the WHO, 5G will not have any negative impact on people. It is similar to existing networks such as 2G, 3G and 4G, so these networks will have no impact on the health of their customers. , it has not been proven to impact the health of customers. Similar studies have been conducted regarding 5G and there are no negative effects on the human body regarding the deployment of 5G networks.”
The nation is excitedly awaiting the launch of this new 5G network.
