vivo has announced a new smartphone for the European market, the V40 SE 5G. It is a low-mid-range device powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset.
This is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage expandable with a microSD card up to 1TB. The triple rear camera system consists of a 50 MP f/1.8 main shooter, an 8 MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera, a 2 MP f/2.4 macro camera, and a 16 MP f/2.0 snapper for selfies.
The phone has a 6.67-inch 1080×2400 120Hz AMOLED touchscreen with a peak brightness of 1,800 nits (1,200 nits in high brightness mode), an optical fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 44W fast wired charging. It is installed. There is no charger in the box.
The V40 SE 5G runs Android 14 with vivo’s Funtouch OS 14 on top. It comes in two colors: Crystal Black and Leather Purple, the latter of which, as the name suggests, has a faux leather finish. The phone measures 163.17 x 75.81 x 7.79 mm (for the Crystal Black version) and the Leather Purple thickness is 7.99 mm. The weights are also different, with Crystal Black at 185.5g and Leather Purple at 191g.
It is currently listed on both vivo’s pan-European site and the local Austrian site, so we expect it to be featured in other European countries soon. Pricing information is not yet available.
