Dr. Sameh Yamanee, CTO of VIAVI, will deliver a keynote speech on “Telecom Digital Twin and its role in future technology maturity.”
Chandler, Arizona, June 10, 2024 ,PRNewswire/ — Viavi Solutions Inc. (VIAVI) (NASDAQ: VIAV) today announced that it will present research, solutions and perspectives on next-generation network technologies, including 6G, AI, Open RAN (O-RAN) and Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), at the IEEE International Communications Conference 2010. Denver, ColoradoThe company will also be showcasing its VIAVI Automated Lab-as-a-Service for Open RAN (VALOR™).
6G
- Complete AI neural network transmissionThe custom-built testbed will leverage the transmission and reception of 5G-NR compliant OFDM signals (PDSCH) and showcase VIAVI’s proprietary full Neural Network (NN) receiver in a downlink scenario.
- MIMO Delayed Doppler Domain WaveformOTFS (Orthogonal Time-Frequency Space) is a modulation technique designed to address the challenges presented by the delay and Doppler shift characteristics of the wireless channel. VIAVI demonstrates the performance of OTFS in multi-antenna transmissions and compares it to OFDM using VIAVI’s proprietary simplified precoder solution.
- Rate division multiple access in overloaded networks. This demonstration showcases VIAVI’s proprietary technology in Rate Division Multiple Access (RSMA) schemes designed to mitigate multi-user interference in overloaded networks where there are fewer transmit antennas than there are users.
High-fidelity digital twin
VIAVI is collaborating with the Wireless Internet of Things Institute and the Open6G Joint Research Center. Northeastern University We are working on large-scale RF propagation channel modeling based on AI and ML techniques to develop a city-scale digital twin of 6G networks. Northeast Demonstrate the following:
- Using AI/ML to enhance ray tracing for radio frequency (RF) propagation modeling to drive digital twins
- Conducting a real measurement campaign Northeastern Boston Campus using VIAVI Ranger rugged RF capture and playback equipment
- Incorporating higher-level KPIs into the digital twin will more effectively model the impact of network conditions on application performance.
Open RAN and NTN
- courage. VALOR is, $21.7 million The grant from the U.S. NTIA Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund (PWSCIF) will enable fully automated, open and unbiased testing and integration of Open RAN. VALOR will provide new entrants, startups and academic institutions a path to certification in the U.S. Access to VALOR will be provided at no cost to academic and NTIA joint grant recipients and is subject to availability.
- N.T.N. VIAVI and Rohde & Schwarz are working together to demonstrate an end-to-end NTN-NR testbed for the lab to evaluate the performance of end-to-end user apps over the NTN link.
- RIC TestVIAVI TeraVM RIC testing demonstrates an energy-saving rApp integrated with Non-RT RIC that uses intelligent ML-based procedures to optimize cell control, achieving significant energy savings without compromising service quality in realistic scenarios.
- O-RAN Security TestingO-DU/O-CU security is verified using the VIAVI O-RAN Security Suite.
