Philadelphia-based managed private cellular provider Velaspan is targeting enterprises in global markets with Nokia’s private 4G/5G solutions. The company says it is one of the first managed services providers to be certified as an enterprise solutions partner by a Finnish vendor. Founded in 2004, Velaspan sells both Nokia’s Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) and Mission Critical Industrial Edge (MXIE) systems for private networking and edge computing.
The deal follows a similar deal focused on the US enterprise market, signed last August with Nokia rival Serona, which will invest in Serona’s core and wireless network solutions in the 3.55-3.7 GHz CBRS band. The plan was to provide the same managed private LTE/5G using The Celona-based service will be sold alongside Velaspan’s existing managed Wi-Fi service.
Velaspan said it is offering “comprehensive and fully managed” enterprise 4G/5G services with Nokia, covering 4G/5G network design, L2/L3 network integration and deployment, as well as network management.
