Ribbon cutting held as United Communications-MTE ready to offer fiber-optic high-speed internet
(Murfreesboro) Thursday (3/19/2024) United Communications, in partnership with Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE), officially opened the new Rutherford Operations Center at 1010 Haley Road in Murfreesboro. This represents an $85 million investment and will provide high-speed internet to an expanded service area of 77,000 customers. It will also expand the company’s internet connectivity in Murfreesboro and Rutherford County.
The company boasts up to 2 gigabits of bandwidth, delivered over a fiber network. Latest Wi-Fi 6 technology with double-digit gigabit. United Communications also provides telephone service to both personal and business addresses throughout Middle Tennessee.
The deployment of this broadband infrastructure by United Communications will not only support instant connectivity, but will also serve as an economic development catalyst, fostering growth and innovation, especially within local communities such as Rutherford County.
With an extensive infrastructure of more than 3,700 route miles of fiber optic, United Communications’ footprint spans Bedford, Davidson, Franklin, Marshall, Maury, Rutherford, Williamson and Wilson counties.
