Teradek has announced the latest additions to its Prism series of 4K HEVC video encoders, the Prism Mobile 5G and Prism Mobile Mk II.
Prism Mobile is aimed at news teams, live production staff, and public safety officials.
This system is designed to provide the best cellular connectivity without compromising size or weight, allowing field operators to stay agile for long periods of time while capturing the action for live streaming and camera-to-cloud workflows. You will be able to do it.

Prism Mobile 5G and Mk II feature private mobile network/CBRS support, twin SIM slots, and two integrated high-performance cellular modems (LTE for Mk II) with external connectivity for modem expansion.
Its small size, weight and power consumption (gold or V-mount battery plate weighs just 864g) makes it ideal for events where mobility is a priority. In addition to this, Prism Mobile is tightly integrated with several camera-to-cloud platforms such as Frame.io, Avid, Sony C3P, Sony Ci, PIX, and Moxion.

Prism Mobile also brings the Teradek Reliable Transport (TRT) protocol to combined cellular workflows for the first time. TRT is an ultra-robust and ultra-low-latency transport protocol that delivers audio and video over combined cellular networks in just 250 milliseconds.
TRT dynamically adjusts stream buffer size and forward error correction to optimize packet delay across different network environments. This maintains real-time delivery without sacrificing quality.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Teradek,” said Mike Geiling, Teradek’s vice president and general manager of live production. “As we announce the latest additions to our product lineup, we are reaffirming our commitment to providing cutting-edge video posting solutions without compromising size, weight, or power efficiency.”
“By continuing to invest in and enhance Prism’s robust capabilities, we are pushing this family of products to the forefront of streaming technology. We have exciting plans for the future.”
Prism Mobile 5G and Mk II are available for pre-order starting today.
