Telecom Argentina (Personal) announced that it will deploy and activate seven 5G standalone (SA) antennas on the Atlantic coast using recently acquired spectrum in the 3.5 GHz band. Personal has activated its first antennas in the seaside resorts of Mar del Plata, Pinamar and Carrillo, the operator announced on Wednesday. Moreover, these locations already have 10 of his 5G sites with 5G DSS technology.

Here are seven new 5G antennas with recently acquired spectrum. There are three antennas in specific locations in Mar del Plata (pedestrian streets of San Martín and Entre Ríos, Calle Playa Serena, Calle Peralta Ramos and Calle Gascón), two antennas in Pinamar and one antenna in the city center. Carillo has two antennas, covering the central and beach areas.

Argentina Telecom The company said it has activated a total of 68 5G SA base stations in various cities across the country using the recently acquired spectrum. Prior to this launch, the company already had 311 5G DSS sites across the country, but these sites will now adapt to the new spectrum for a better experience.

The company aims to provide Argentines with the latest technology. Individuals vacationing in these cities with compatible devices and close to the first 5G-enabled sites will be able to experience the benefits of 5G technology, including significantly increased speeds and reduced latency, the company said. At the initial stage, a customer will not need to purchase another plan to enjoy his 5G service using his existing plan.
