Google announced the launch of Gemini Live at Made by Google 2024. A broader rollout is currently underway for select Pixel and Samsung devices, and it will be available on Android devices as well. Gemini Live provides a conversational experience that lets you freely interact with your digital assistant. The feature supports both text and voice input for hands-free operation and works even in the background or when the phone is locked.
Valve, the American game developer behind the Steam Deck handheld console, has confirmed that it’s working on extending SteamOS support to third-party handheld gaming consoles, including ASUS’ ROG Ally devices. The move poses a challenge for Microsoft, as most of Steam Deck’s competitors currently use the Windows platform.
Motorola’s upcoming budget 5G smartphone, Moto G45 5G, is set to launch on August 21. Chinese smartphone brand POCO has announced that its first Android tablet, the POCO Pad 5G, will be launched in India on August 23. The tablet has been listed on e-commerce platform Flipkart, confirming its Indian launch. Unveiled globally in May, the POCO Pad 5G is already on sale in select markets and the Indian version is expected to mirror the global specs.
Apple is reportedly planning to release the next-generation MacBook Pro with the M4 in October of this year. According to a report from 9To5Mac citing analyst Ross Young, Apple plans to release the new MacBook Pro models on the same schedule as last year.
According to technology website VentureBeat, Google has released the latest version of its AI text image generation tool, Imagen 3, to users in the U.S. The image generation tool is available through Google’s ImageFX platform and can be accessed through Google’s AI Test Kitchen. Apple is reportedly accelerating development of a desktop robotic device.
