We have great news for T-Mobile customers and investors. After years of waiting, Un-carrier has finally activated his 2.5GHz spectrum, which he won at Auction 108 in 2022.
With the spectrum activated, we can now expand Ultra Capacity 5G coverage to various communities. It will also help increase Ultra Capacity 5G bandwidth in some parts of the country (even in rural areas). What this means is that you can expect to see improved performance as soon as the spectrum comes online within a few days.
Mike Siebert, CEO of T-Mobile, said:
“Thanks to years of planning, T-Mobile is now making this spectrum readily available to millions of customers, bringing revolutionary Ultra Capacity 5G to more people and meeting the speeds of others. “This type of execution is why T-Mobile is America’s new network leader, while ensuring we continue to deliver maximum value to our customers.”
This was a much-awaited boost in 5G coverage and performance as spectrum releases have been stalled for quite some time. However, thanks to the 5G SALE Act, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) was able to award licenses from previous auctions.
