After kneading the dough, she divides it into equal proportions. To make yellow bread, she adds turmeric powder to the dough and kneads it again. Similar process is repeated for other colors. I added matcha powder for the green color. Pink was obtained from beets, orange from saffron, and blue from green peas. Before putting it in the oven and baking it, Sahini rolls up different colored dough layers and forms them into a cylindrical shape. This will later be converted to a swirl effect. In the video, she is shown slicing fresh bread and spreading a blue-colored spread on it. For her stuffing, she used slices of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, etc. Holi sandwich is ready to enjoy.
While sharing this clip, she wrote, “Holi Sandwich. My way of celebrating colors. Holy Sandwich. Soft, supple, complex and delicious! Pigment: Yellow – Haldi or Turmeric (to preserve color), “Pink – beetroot (but has lost its color)” “Green – Matcha (color remains), Orange – saffron (turned dark yellow), Blue – green bean flower powder ( It becomes brighter when baked).
