Sateliot, the pioneering developer of the first Low Earth Orbit (LEO) nanosatellite constellation utilizing the 5G NB-IoT NTN standard, has successfully launched four more satellites as part of the 5G NB-IoT NTN constellation.
The satellites, designed to extend mobile operators’ coverage to 100% of the Earth, were deployed on SpaceX’s Transporter 11 mission. The launch took place on board a Falcon 9 rocket at 20:18 CET on Friday, August 16, from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, USA.
An exclusive event in Barcelona brought together the Sateliot family and key stakeholders to witness the launch live, with support from ESA, GSMA, the Spanish government and others. Presented by Josep Calatayud, Director of the “Control de Misión” YouTube channel, the event featured insightful interviews with shareholders, authorities and employees. Co-founders Jaume Sanpera (CEO) and Marco Guadalupi (CTO) provided detailed explanations and predictions for Sateliot’s future. You can rewatch the full event here.
It also represents a revolution for the 5G NB-IoT NTN standard, giving Satelliot the opportunity to transform industries around the world, making connectivity blackspots a thing of the past, regardless of location or infrastructure.
The technology itself is revolutionary, incorporating enhancements from previous satellites and being the first constellation to fully implement standard GSMA and 3GPP developments in a satellite. In addition to providing commercial services, Sateliot aims to leverage these advancements to continue leading the NTN community in future innovations. Featuring patented “store and forward” technology, Sateliot’s unique approach provides unparalleled global connectivity in new orbital planes. Additionally, the company is progressing through a certification program for commercial terminals, accelerating the integration of its services into the market.
Going forward, Sateliot plans to deploy additional satellites by 2025 and is actively in discussions to secure a €30 million Series B funding round. Sateliot has raised €25 million since its founding in 2018 and aims to reach €1 billion in revenue by 2030.
Sateliot’s technology is democratically accessible and designed to support a wide range of use cases for small and medium-sized enterprises, governments and large corporations in sectors such as agriculture, livestock, logistics and critical infrastructure, with plans to initially connect over 8 million devices across the company.

This launch marks a new development phase for the company, not only starting to generate revenue but also positioning Spain as a global leader in IoT connectivity. Inspired by Antoni Gaudi’s iconic dragon, the “Revolution” mission badge symbolizes the resilience of Satelliot’s technology and the company’s global ambitions. Four flames represent each newly launched satellite, while multi-colored shards foreshadow a constellation of more than 100 satellites by 2028.
