The Official Smartphone and Computing Device Partner of the Olympic Games will use cutting-edge Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones to help stream the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony on the River Seine and the Olympic Games sailing competitions over a private 5G network provided by Orange, the Official Mobile Network Provider of Paris 2024 in France.
To support this, Orange will install antennas along the Seine, creating the first standalone 5G network in France. This innovative collaboration aims to offer fans around the world a new and unprecedented viewing experience through seamless 5G connectivity.
“In an increasingly connected society, Samsung Galaxy mobile technology helps users engage with and transform the world wherever they are. As a Worldwide Partner for nearly 30 years, we know firsthand how important it is to create and enable similar meaningful connections at the Olympic and Paralympic Games,” said Stephanie Choi, executive vice president and head of marketing for the Mobile Experience business at Samsung Electronics. “We’re honored to work closely with the IOC and OBS to deliver high-quality footage that will be part of a series of Paris 2024 premieres, bringing the excitement even closer to fans at home and at the venue.”
