Circle to Search has become a popular tool among Android users due to its intuitive search method. Finding out where to buy a cool pair of sunglasses you saw on Instagram is as easy as circling it with your finger. The feature has become so popular that Google is considering adding a version of it to its Chrome browser.
Samsung has recognized the usefulness of Circle to Search and decided to roll it out to five more devices. Three of the company’s mid-range models, the Galaxy A34 5G, Galaxy A35 5G, and A54 5G, will receive the update along with the entire Galaxy Tab S9 FE series. The tablet line consists of the base model, the Tab S9 FE Plus, and the S9 FE 5G. This update brings the number of devices that support Circle to Search to over 30 (almost 40 if you include the recently announced Pixel 9 series).
Going by the official announcement, it seems like this version of the feature won’t have any limitations. It will perform at the same level as Circle to Search on higher-end devices. Samsung says that users can “circle, highlight or tap anywhere on the screen to select” a specific line of text, object in an image, or video they want to search.
This is surprising because Circle to Search uses AI technology that is usually only found in expensive smartphones like the Galaxy S24. Initially, it was thought that only devices like the Samsung Galaxy S24 series had the hardware powerful enough to keep up with the new wave of AI. Apparently, this is not the case.
A leak from early August suggested Samsung plans to expand Galaxy AI to some mid-range models, and the three that received Circle to Search may just be the first in the line.
availability
Here are some things to know about the patch, which will begin rolling out on August 22. Samsung says that patch distribution “may vary by device model and market,” which seems to suggest that this might not be a global rollout. The performance and overall quality of Circle to Search “will be affected.” [the] It takes into account “circled image”, clarity and other factors.
