- Telstra customers facing call and internet interruptions
- Telephone company says it is working on a fix, triple-0 calls will not be affected
Thousands of Telstra customers are facing service disruptions across Australia.
More than 1,900 customers have reported issues with DownDetector’s service, impacting their calls and internet.
A Telstra spokesperson confirmed there was an issue with the network, but said calls to Triple Zero were not affected at this stage.
A spokesperson said: “We are investigating an issue affecting some mobile phone calls.”
“We are working on a fix and hope to have everything back up and running soon.”
“If you’re a Telstra customer, you may have noticed some issues with your mobile phone calls. We’re working on a fix and hope you’ll have everything back up and running soon. We want to keep you updated.” Telstra posted on X just before 2pm.
“Mobile data is not affected, so other calling methods such as FaceTime/WhatsApp/Messenger will continue to work.”
“When the phone rings, the message that the call was unsuccessful hangs up,” one customer reported.
“We do that on incoming and outgoing calls.”
Other customers said they were able to make calls but couldn’t hear the person on the other end when connected.
