In this role, Phoebe will lead efforts to embrace generative AI and other emerging technologies to contribute to The Washington Post’s mission to inform, empower and delight readers. She will ensure the development of ambitious newsgathering tools and user experiences that align with the Post’s standards and overarching editorial and business goals.
Working closely with Full Masthead, Phoebe develops and manages a roadmap for AI tools and user experiences, convening conversations and working groups to accelerate the use of generative AI in our most ambitious work. Masu. We will also work with our standards team to develop protocols and standards for journalists’ use of AI to help the entire company adopt this technology quickly and thoughtfully.
Phoebe will report directly to Editor-in-Chief Sally Buzbee and to Chief Technology Officer Vineet Khosla.
