Pelephone announced today that it will launch an operationally independent 5G network core in Israel by the end of 2024.
Pelephone is currently working with Ericsson, considered a world leader in this field, to upgrade to an independent end-to-end 5G network core. Pelephone will join other telecommunications giants in the world to offer its 5G network independently.
This will enable Pelephone to offer breakthrough services in the world of IoT, private virtual networks, management of critical and critical systems in various areas of life and industry, and innovative XR applications. All of this is based on low latency, high traffic rates, and large-scale sensor communication provided by new technologies.
The core of the new network being built will be based on cloud technology and will be used in stages as an integrated core for both 4th and 5th generation. Currently, Israeli 5th generation services are based on radio transmission with 5th generation technology, which provides a wide frequency range and allows surfing rates of hundreds of megabits per second to be reached. Pelephone leads the 5th generation in Israel with approximately 1 million 5th generation subscribers.
The move to replace the network core completes the existing 5th generation wireless infrastructure by creating a flexible and efficient network. This allows you to dynamically create services that require high browsing rates, high reliability, and fast (low speed) network response to end devices. delay), etc.: smart traffic lights, self-driving cars, telemedicine services, virtual private cell phone networks, gaming applications, AR/VR glasses, etc.
Alon Berman, CEO of Ericsson Israel, said: “We are proud of our long-standing and successful cooperation with Pelephone. Thanks to Ericsson’s cutting-edge technology, Pelephone will deliver an innovative 5G standalone network with a very fast surfing experience, short response times, and improved information security. “The network will also enable flexibility and agility in establishing new services for residential and business customers. A standalone 5G network will be used by Israeli telecommunications It creates new business opportunities that lead to growth and innovation in the sector.”
Ilan Siegel, CEO of Pelephone: “Our partnership with Ericsson enables a revolution in the Israeli telecommunications market. We are proud to continue leading the way in 5G in Israel. ”
