On Thursday, a Republican Alabama senator stunned onlookers on both sides of the aisle. And American comedians couldn’t wait to parody her.
Sen. Katie Britt’s video rebuttal to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address, which she appeared to stream from her home kitchen, made headlines Friday for how badly it received a response from both parties.
“Creepy,” “Breathtakingly Weird,” “One of the Greatest Disasters of All Time,” and “What’s Wrong With Her?” These are just some of the feedback Britt received.
Then parodies appeared.
Heather Gardner hits back at Katie Britt
Satirist Heather Gardner provided a more concise version of Britt’s approximately 20-minute video, which had similar complaints.
1. There was a taco truck on her street, but the tacos were probably illegal.
2. Her children attend a school where the Bible is not the only book.
3. Innocent people will be harmed if Bridgestone (who Britt reportedly called his son) doesn’t put the milk lid back on.

Katie Britt: Inside the Actors Studio
Ben Bowman decided to cut Britt’s speech during an interview with Inside the Actors Studio host James Lipton. The results are as follows.
Lipton: What excites you?
Brit: Putin’s brutal invasion of Europe.
Lipton: What is your favorite word?
Brit: countryside!
Lipton: What job would you never want to be involved in?
Brit: Cleaning the toilet at my mother’s dance studio.
Lipton: What word do you hate?
Brit: Just as it is!
Katie Britt’s unedited Republican response
In this Brit interpretation, the senator is cast as the proud mother of daughter “Know Your Place” and son “Make Me a Sandwich B—-,” but she doesn’t want to give the State of the Union address. They are not allowed to watch or do math.
As she cleans the house, this Brit parody declares with a smile, “It begins and ends with unimaginable horror, folks!”
