Albanian telecommunications operator One Albania has strengthened its network infrastructure to handle increased data traffic during the peak summer season. With data usage up 40 percent compared to last year, driven by both domestic users and record numbers of international tourists, the company said it is ready to meet the demand.

Expanding the network
“In the past two weeks alone, more than 95,000 visitors have joined the One Albania network. Our team has been working intensively to ensure that One Network not only meets but exceeds the expectations of our local users as well as international visitors,” said the company’s spokesperson. Getting ready for 5G
To accommodate the surge, One Albania has expanded its network coverage, especially in popular coastal areas and the Logara Tunnel. The company is also laying the foundations for 5G, which will enable data speeds of up to 2.5Gbps per user.
Fixed Network Infrastructure Upgrade
In addition to improving its mobile network, One Albania said it has also upgraded its fixed network infrastructure: this year alone, 30,000 households have gained Fiber to the Home (FTTH) access and 35,000 outdated copper wires have been replaced with high-speed fiber optics, supporting Albania’s ongoing digital transformation.
