The National Space Science Agency (NSSA) sent several representatives to attend the Sixth Generation (6G) World Summit in the UK.
The summit was attended by a wide range of executives from politics and industry, including government officials from over 40 countries and private telecommunications companies.
The discussion focused on pioneering concepts and research into the future of 6G technology with an emphasis on sustainability. The event also highlighted key factors and emerging applications associated with this new generation technology.
Engineer Reem Sinan commented: “The Global 6th Generation Summit brought together a distinguished group of experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by 6G technology, which is expected to be widespread by 2030. This was an important opportunity to connect with world leaders and help shape a future that will benefit various sectors, including space and emerging technologies.”
Engineer Yousef Al Qattan said, “The summit began with a presentation on Bahrain’s successful adoption of 5G technology, highlighting the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority’s efficient and strategic approach. The event also outlined the European Union’s plans and the National Telecommunications and Information Authority’s (NTIA) strategy for the adoption of 6G technology in the United States.”
The conference, attended by more than 450 people, featured sessions on key topics including 6G technology development, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and policies on spectrum allocation in the 6G era.
