In a nutshell: If you need internet speed without spending a lot of money, Motorola’s latest affordable phones have you covered. The company will release upgraded versions of Moto G Power 5G and Moto G 5G for 2024, offering ultra-fast 5G connectivity at a low price.
Let’s start with the headliner, the new Moto G Power 5G. This Android 14 handset features a larger 6.7-inch 2400 x 1080 LCD screen with a super-smooth 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Atmos audio to keep your movies and games looking and sounding their best. Under the hood is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7020 chip with 8GB of robust RAM.
In the camera department, the G Power 5G inherits last year’s high-performance 50MP main shooter, but takes it up a notch with optical image stabilization. There’s an 8MP ultrawide/macro camera and a 16MP selfie snapper on each side. You can also take sharp photos and record videos at up to 1080p 30fps.

Despite the impressive 5,000mAh battery, Motorola has managed to keep the G Power 5G relatively sleek at just 8.5mm thick and weighing 185 grams. This battery supports 30W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. It also has great features like a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and USB-C. All in all, the package isn’t too shabby for $299.99.
However, if you’re looking to save a few bucks, the regular Moto G 5G might be your best bet. The 6.6-inch 1612×720 screen also features a fast 120Hz refresh rate. Although it’s downgraded to a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor with 4GB RAM, the battery is still large at 5,000mAh (with 18W wired charging).
As for the camera, it shares the same 50MP main camera as its more expensive sibling, but lacks stabilization. It also has a 2MP macro lens and his 8MP selfie cam capable of 1080p video capture, although there is no ultra-wide lens. Other great features include a headphone jack and FM radio support.

At $199.99, the Moto G 5G is easily one of the most affordable ways to get super-fast 5G speeds along with the latest Android software. Both of these affordable devices support numerous 5G bands in the US.
Moto G Power 5G will arrive in Cricket on March 22nd, followed by an unlocked version later that month. Moto G 5G launches on T-Mobile and Metro on March 21st, ahead of unlocked sales in early May.
