Drama ensued at the Coke Zero Sugar 400, a NASCAR Cup Series race held in Daytona, with the internet going down in the garage area. Athletic, “Internet is down in the entire garage area so no one knows what the fuel is,” one team radio said.
This was said after a major crash occurred on lap 60 of the race, which took out multiple drivers. Daniel SuarezHis night ended early when his car caught fire.
The race was in the second stage when the internet outage occurred, so drivers weren’t too worried about their fuel levels, but if the internet in the garage area remains down for the entire race, the end of the race could get very interesting.
After the Daytona accident Chase Elliott Reaction to being involved in the accident: “I saw the smoke and I was pretty far back in the pack at the time so I just slowed down and prayed I didn’t get hit from behind,” Elliott said. “Unfortunately, neither of those happened. It’s unfortunate and I hate it, but we were just riding along and I think everyone was just trying to get through the stage. … It’s really unfortunate. I’m sorry to everyone involved. Obviously I need to have a good week next week but I’ve been pretty lucky in the last few plate races so unfortunately it’s delayed me.”

What’s interesting about Daytona is that Kyle LarsonBefore the Coke Zero Sugar 400, Larson explained why Daytona has been a weak spot for him for years.
“I feel like I’m a lot better than I was before. A lot of times, even when I’m in the leading car late in the race, I get caught up in a crash,” Larson told NBC Sports’ Dustin Long. “I’m not really blaming it on luck at all. I still have a lot of room to improve and I need to make the right decisions to maintain good track position, but I feel like I’ve gotten better. The team has obviously been working on it a lot, and I think we’re doing a really good job of getting stage points and maintaining our position late in the race.”
“I feel like I just needed one lazy decision or one hasty decision to have a really good day. Hopefully this weekend will be a little different.”
