If you’re from Bombay or have spent any time in Bombay, you’re probably already familiar with the city’s famous ‘Vada Pavs’. A delicious street-style snack made with crunchy aloo bonda served with a spicy and flavorful chutney on a buttery soft pav bun. This signature dish can be enjoyed any time of the day, whether it’s breakfast, lunch or high tea. Recently, a Mumbai-based influencer called this snack ‘rubbish’, much to the dismay of many users on the internet.
Sakshi Shivdasani, an Instagram content creator with over 400,000 followers, was speaking on the show “Having Said That.” “Wada Pav is rubbish. I hate Wada Pav with all my heart,” she said. As for why, she added, “I can’t imagine boiled potatoes and bread having any meaning.” The host of the show said that the potatoes are first boiled and then fried and served in the pub. Chutney is added at the end. The influencer then asserted that adding chutney is not “unique” to snacks.
The show’s hosts discuss snacks, discussing prices and the “vibe” of the food. Ms Shivdasani concluded by saying that she believes samosa pav is better than vada pav.
This video was first shared in December 2023. Since it was uploaded, it has received 2 million views and he has collected over 47,000 likes.
“In cancel culture we need to cancel her for this,” a user said.
“Hating what’s popular doesn’t make you cool,” added another.
A third user added, “She’ll hate Vada Pav and then pay 500 rupees for hash browns with ketchup in a so-called ‘aesthetic’ cafe,” while another added, “Okay. So what does it mean to her? A burger? A.” She has boiled potatoes and bread, does that mean anything to her? ”
“The chutney in the vada pav is 100000000000000 times better than your accent,” one person said.
Another user commented: “Typical South Bombay Bhaiya girl.”
The user agreed with the content creator and said, “Same same same! I hate that too.”
“It’s true. It’s half-baked,” said another.
