Meek Mill’s career hasn’t panned out the way many fans expected. In the early 2010s, he seemed poised to become one of the greatest artists of his generation. A lot of drama, on and off the record, prevented that from happening. Today, Meek Mill is a curiosity, too old to be outdated, but too young to receive revisionist praise. From this awkward middle ground, one podcaster claimed the rapper had no hits. This opinion spread quickly online, and fans banded together to remind the podcaster that he does indeed have a solid catalog.
The podcast in question is Need to Know The show was hosted by Mandy B. [Mill] “Meek is a record legend in Philadelphia,” said Mandy B. The host also hesitated to acknowledge that Meek was a legend in his hometown of Philadelphia. She pointed to the fact that Hov had named Meek Mill “the next Jay-Z” and said he had woefully failed to live up to those lofty expectations.
Fans paid tribute to Meek Mill’s name
The internet was not on Mandy B’s side. Meek Mill may not have had any recent hits, but the general consensus was that the rapper had plenty of hits in the past. Fans dissected Meek Mill’s popularity in the early 2010s. “If you were in college or on the streets from 2007-2015, Meek Mill was everywhere,” wrote one enthusiastic user. “Meek has had 4 RIAA certified albums and 40 platinum or gold songs. This is insane.” Another user accused Mandy B of purposely fishing for hot takes. “She’s trying to go viral for opinions,” one tweeted.
Meek also What you need to know He posted a clip and responded. If you follow the rapper on Twitter, you know he’s prone to saying things that don’t make sense. He brought his rant about firing his PR team into the discussion of Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s feud. We’re still not sure how that went. But Meek Mill did have a succinct and solid response to Mandy B’s criticism. He posted a link to his beloved mixtape. Dream Chasers 2“Do you know how many hits this mixtape has,” he wrote. “I even got a billboard hit lol but this vibe in 2011 feels invincible in the rap world…the Mandela effect is real,” and we have to agree with the legendary Philadelphia artist.
