Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil was optimistic about the network’s future, saying “they have until June 21 to complete the share subscription agreement and they are generally ready to sign it.”
The rapid rollout of Malaysia’s 5G network has achieved coverage of over 80% of densely populated areas within two years, with over 13 million 5G subscribers to date. Collaboration between DNB, the government and various industries is seen as a crucial factor in driving this adoption.
But the rollout has not been without challenges. Last month, negotiations between DNB and the country’s major telecommunications companies concluded.
