I don’t really follow the British Royal Family, but in recent weeks I’ve gone from being a mere observer to a full-fledged conspiracy theorist. Ever since Duchess Kate’s disappearance meme took over my girlfriend’s Seriously, there are a lot of questions about where the Princess of Wales was (was she?) Really (Will I get a BBL or what?) And what will happen to Kate Middleton’s Mother’s Day photo? And we won’t rest until we figure it all out.
If you’re confused, I’ll explain right away. From late February to early March 2024, the entire internet noticed that Duchess Kate had been away from the public eye for some time. Although the royal family confirmed that Duchess Kate underwent abdominal surgery in January 2024 and that she was recovering, the internet continued to make fun of her disappearance. From immersive experiences with Willy Wonka to secret dates with Pete Davidson, the internet has been running wild theories about Middleton’s whereabouts (jokingly called OFC).
But the problem is, I don’t think the royal family liked this. That’s absolutely true. Throughout the melee period, Kensington Palace issued several statements asking for privacy as Middleton recovered from surgery. And, well, I respect that. But when Middleton shared his Mother’s Day photo on social media, the internet went from jokes to genuine concern.
Duchess Kate’s Mother’s Day photo sparked an IG investigation.
On March 10th, Middleton posted a photo celebrating Mother’s Day on her social platforms (I posted this). just The day I learned it was a different day than in America. Am I an ignorant American? ). “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the past two months. I hope everyone has a happy Mother’s Day. C,” the princes wrote on her shared account.
I know I’m not the only one who finds this photo… weird.
I wasn’t the only one to record this. The internet is almost immediately I noticed some inconsistencies with photo storage. For example, parts of her daughter’s sweater are disappearing (look at the cuff of her right sleeve) and the odd zipper position on Ms. Middleton’s jacket. Oh, and the whole image looks like it was computer generated…at least in my opinion!
But that’s not all. Several news organizations and photo agencies removed the portrait from their verified photo libraries and issued takedown notices on the photo.
What on earth is going on?
Was Duchess Kate’s Mother’s Day photo taken by AI?
I’ll crush the beef on behalf of the royal family, no! According to Photoshop experts, strange mishaps seen in photos appear to be the result of a Photoshop glitch rather than artificial intelligence. While Middleton may have used generative AI tools to correct some errors in the original photo (such as Google’s “Best Take” feature), the portrait itself was not a computer-generated product. there is no. And perhaps due to the backlash over the photo, Duchess Kate herself took to social media to appeal for the mystery to be uncovered.
So who edited Duchess Kate’s Mother’s Day photo? After all, it was the princess all along. Breathtaking!
On March 11, Middleton released a statement on social media to clear up the confusion and confess that he had been “experimenting” with the edits.
Hey, as a girl who has experienced heavy I was there, Kate, during the FaceTune phase in college. It’s safe to say the conspiracy is over…for now. If you want future royal family updates, I’m your girl.
