“Had a productive meeting with the Advisory Group of Telecom Service Providers. We discussed issues relating to quality of service, India’s 6G vision and boosting research and development to take our sector to new heights of development,” Scindia said on social media platform X.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Telecom Penmasani Chandra Sekhar, Telecom Secretary Neeraj Mittal, Digital Communications Commissioner (Finance) Manish Sinha and other senior officials of the Ministry of Telecommunications.
Reliance Jio Managing Director Pankaj Pawar, Vodafone Idea CEO Akshaya Moondra, BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Robert J Ravi, Tejas Networks Chairman of the Board NG Subramaniam and industry body COAI Secretary General SP Kochhar were also present at the meeting.
Issues such as bringing over-the-top (OTT) operators under a licensing regime and imposing fair usage fees on major mobile applications were not raised at the meeting, industry sources said.
